Last night I went with one of my best friends to see Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson in concert. For anyone living in the US, they are two of the most respected musicians in the country. So when I logged in today, I was excited to tell Raven about the concert. We don’t forget that Second Life is a world without national borders, but we are proud of our country, especially the creative energy produced here.
I flew up to her studio, and Johnny Cash, another great American musician, was blasting on the speakers. I walked in and Raven was wearing the Twisted Swiss, this time in a brilliant red. Sabine was standing by in the Twisted Swiss in white, watching Raven fluff up the skirt of a gorgeous blue version. Both were humming with the music.
“Hi, Harper!” Sabine smiled. Sabine is our quiet Duchess–she floats around the Isle taking care of things for us and keeping everything in order. It was good to see her having fun with Raven.
“Just in time,” Raven grinned. Raven took the dress off the mannequin and handed it to me. “Put this on.”
I donned the blue Twisted Swiss. The blue and red version were identical lolita-style dresses with their mesh top, laced corset and elaborate laced collar. Two layers in the skirts with tulle and brocade shimmered around our legs, showing Raven’s finest gifts with hand-drawn textures imported into SL.
Raven had us pop up on to pose stands. The bright ruby red, the gem-like blue, and the pure white arranged together looked like a crazy patriotic gothic fashion show. “Just in time for 4th of July,” Raven said. “Some American colors for American music lovers.” She shot photos as she bellowed out, “Because you’re mine, I walk the line.”
